The name

Why “Built by Boot”?

Because a website should be built the way a good job is done: properly, by someone who takes pride in it, and to a standard that lasts. The businesses we work with know the difference between a quick bodge and real craft. We hold our work to the same standard they hold theirs.

Most agencies sell polish. We’d rather sell graft. A site that looks sharp and does its job, delivered when we said it would be.

What we believe about building websites.

Four things we won’t compromise on. They’re the reason clients stay past the first project.

  1. The person you meet is the person who builds it No account managers translating your brief to someone in a back room. You talk to the designer. That’s how nothing gets lost.
  2. Honest beats optimistic If a project’s going to take three weeks, we say three weeks. If you don’t need the expensive thing, we’ll tell you. You can’t build trust on timelines you don’t hit.
  3. It’s your website, not ours You own it. You can edit it. There’s no lock-in that forces you back to us for every full stop. Good work keeps clients; hostage-taking just makes people resentful.
  4. Small enough to care, senior enough to deliver Big agencies are expensive and slow, and your project competes with fifty others. Freelancers are cheap but stretched thin. We sit in the middle: senior-level work, personal service, and we actually pick up the phone.
Who we work with

The sector doesn’t decide it. The admin does.

Trades, clinics, agencies, shops, professional firms, startups. We build to the same standard for all of them. What actually matters is whether enquiries are getting lost, bookings take two phone calls, and the same details get typed out three times.

If you do good work and the website isn’t pulling its weight, that’s the gap we close. We’re rooted in Greater Manchester and work right across the UK. Wherever you are, the standard’s the same.

How we got here

It started as a frustration.

Too many good businesses were being sold expensive, templated websites that didn’t bring in work, or quoted agency prices for agency timelines they couldn’t afford to wait out.

There was a gap for someone who’d do senior-quality work, quickly, honestly, and at a price that made sense for a real small business. So we built it.
